Check-ups A routine visit to catch problems early
What it is
A routine visit where the dentist examines your teeth, gums, and mouth for early signs of decay, gum disease, or other issues.
What to expect
About 20–30 minutes: a visual exam, a discussion of any concerns, and a plain-language summary of what (if anything) needs attention.
Good to know
Regular check-ups every six months help catch problems while they're small and simple to treat.
X-ray A closer look at what the eye can't see
What it is
A quick digital image that reveals cavities, bone loss, impacted teeth, and other issues hidden beneath the surface.
What to expect
A small sensor is placed in the mouth for a few seconds per image; the picture appears on-screen almost immediately.
Good to know
Digital X-rays use very low radiation and are often what helps us catch a problem before it causes pain.
Cleaning & Polishing Removing plaque and tartar brushing can't reach
What it is
A professional cleaning that removes plaque and tartar buildup, followed by polishing to smooth and brighten the tooth surface.
What to expect
About 30–40 minutes of scaling and polishing; you may notice mild sensitivity to cold right after.
Good to know
Cleaning every six months helps prevent gum disease and keeps stains from tea, coffee, or tobacco from settling in.
Dental Fillings Repairing a tooth after decay is removed
What it is
A filling restores a tooth after decay is cleaned out, using a tooth-coloured material to seal and strengthen it.
What to expect
Usually one visit under local numbing — the decayed part is removed and the filling is shaped and set in the same sitting.
Good to know
Treating a cavity early with a filling is simpler and less costly than waiting until it needs a root canal.
Root Canal Treatment (RCT) Saving a hurting tooth, comfortably
What it is
Removing infected or inflamed tissue from inside a tooth, then sealing it so you can keep the tooth instead of losing it.
What to expect
One to two visits under local numbing. Most patients say it feels similar to getting a routine filling.
Good to know
An RCT typically relieves pain rather than causing it — the infection is usually what hurt in the first place.
Crowns & Veneers Capping or covering a tooth to restore its look
What it is
A crown is a custom cap that covers a weakened tooth entirely, while a veneer is a thin shell bonded to the front for a cosmetic fix.
What to expect
The tooth is gently shaped, an impression is taken, and a temporary is fitted while your custom piece is made — usually over two visits.
Good to know
Both are colour-matched to your natural teeth and, with good care, can last well over a decade.
Extraction Removing a tooth that can't be saved, safely
What it is
Removal of a severely damaged, infected, or crowded tooth, including wisdom teeth, under local anaesthesia.
What to expect
A short procedure followed by clear aftercare instructions to keep healing smooth and comfortable.
Good to know
We'll always discuss whether saving the tooth is possible before recommending an extraction.
Dentures & Bridges Replacing one or more missing teeth
What it is
Dentures are removable full or partial sets of replacement teeth, while a bridge is a fixed replacement anchored to the neighbouring teeth.
What to expect
Impressions are taken to custom-fit your replacement; most cases take two to three visits to finalise the fit.
Good to know
Replacing missing teeth early helps stop your remaining teeth from gradually shifting out of position.
Dental Implants A permanent, natural-feeling replacement tooth
What it is
A small titanium post placed in the jaw that acts as an artificial root, topped with a custom-matched crown.
What to expect
Done in stages over a few months to allow healing; each visit itself is comfortable and typically pain-free with local numbing.
Good to know
Implants are built to last for decades and are cared for just like a natural tooth — brushing and flossing included.
Smile Designing A custom plan to redesign how your smile looks
What it is
Smile designing combines whitening, shaping, veneers, or alignment into one custom plan built around how you want your smile to look.
What to expect
A consultation to discuss your goals, sometimes with a digital preview, followed by the combination of treatments that gets you there.
Good to know
Every plan is different — some smiles need a single whitening visit, others take a few months of combined treatment.
Braces & Aligners Straighter teeth, with or without metal
What it is
Traditional braces or clear removable aligners to gradually straighten crowded or crooked teeth.
What to expect
A consultation and scan first, then a custom plan — most cases run 6 to 18 months depending on the case.
Good to know
Clear aligners are nearly invisible and removable for eating, so most adults wear them without it affecting daily life.
Pediatric Care Gentle dental care built for kids
What it is
Dental care for children's growing teeth — check-ups, cleanings, and preventive treatments, delivered in a gentler, kid-friendly way.
What to expect
A friendly, unhurried visit that includes a gentle exam, a cleaning, and simple guidance on brushing habits for your child.
Good to know
Starting visits early helps children build comfort with the dentist and lets us catch issues while baby teeth are still guiding adult teeth into place.
